HANOI — Vietnam is emerging as Southeast Asia's most rapidly electrifying automotive market, with over 150,000 EV charging points now operational along all national highways, expressway service areas, and urban retail centers.

Clean Urban Transportation in Saigon and Hanoi

Electric taxis, electric buses (VinBus), and zero-emission scooters have become ubiquitous across major cities, significantly reducing urban acoustic noise and particulate emissions.

"Vietnam's ambitious timeline to transition 100% of urban buses and taxis to green energy by 2030 is already exceeding interim milestones," stated environmental policymakers in Hanoi.

Key Green Infrastructure Facts

  • Ultra-Fast 360kW DC Chargers: Capable of adding 200 km of driving range in less than 15 minutes.
  • Battery Swapping Stations: Over 1,200 modular battery swap kiosks for electric delivery two-wheelers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
  • Renewable Power Integration: Rooftop solar canopies installed across 40% of expressway charging plazas.

Domestic EV manufacturers are expanding exports to North America, Europe, and neighboring ASEAN nations, positioning Vietnamese green automotive engineering on the world stage.
